Warren has already had remarkable success pushing the idea that nobody with a private sector background should work in the government and now she’s moving toward you shouldn’t even meet with business leaders?

It's sorta annoying to be in the position of hoping that a politician is lying, but that's probably the best case.

NEW: What if one way to tackle crime is to focus on fixing places rather than arresting people? That's the theory behind risk-based policing, an experiment that has been carried out in multiple cities.

Interesting thread about risk-based policing, which appears to involve reducing police work by fixing city components that lead to crime. I wonder how well this replicates though.

“As soon as possible, force Republicans to vote on a federal right to abortion in the first trimester and in cases of rape and incest, and federal prohibitions on criminal penalties for women [and those who assist them] who seek or obtain abortions … Now. Not in November.”

Dan Diamond @ddiamond

“Republicans are willing to pay a political price to ban abortion,” @jbarro writes. “It's up to Democrats to make them pay it.” https://t.co/zDmkR179ya https://t.co/iwtzk7QxCC

Protesting is good! Racial justice protests moved opinion on racial issues in a progressive direction! You want to protest for a reasonable policy goal (i.e. not “defund the police) but it’s good for folks to march for abortion rights.

Lakshya Jain @lxeagle17

The crux of the argument is “Democrats have blown things in the past so they will blow this too, and moderates will dislike the protests more than they dislike the ruling’s effects, so it might help the GOP”. I’m not sure. Public is a fair bit more liberal on abortion than crime https://t.co/ZrIFHeOlkA
