It's sorta annoying to be in the position of hoping that a politician is lying, but that's probably the best case.


Interesting thread about risk-based policing, which appears to involve reducing police work by fixing city components that lead to crime. I wonder how well this replicates though.

The crux of the argument is “Democrats have blown things in the past so they will blow this too, and moderates will dislike the protests more than they dislike the ruling’s effects, so it might help the GOP”. I’m not sure. Public is a fair bit more liberal on abortion than crime https://t.co/ZrIFHeOlkAYglesias can be a wet blanket, but not on this! Protesting works!
